Sara's Mom & Dad came to visit over the weekend. It was SO nice to have them stay with us and be able to show them around the area. Thursday we just spent the evening at the house visiting over dinner and showing them around our place. Friday, Sim and I both had to work which was unfortunate but what can you do! Friday was also my parents 38th Wedding Anniversary though so once Sim got off work he showed them around Galveston, they rode the ferry boat, and then once I got off we went out to dinner to celebrate with them! It was a beautiful evening and we were able to walk around the boardwalk at Kemah and enjoy the weather and watching the boats going by.
Saturday Sim worked and Mom, Dad, and I went to the pool. Once Sim was off we went down to the Strand and walked around exploring the little shops and sipping on cold drinks as we browsed. It was such a nice day and it was a wonderful opportunity for Sim and I to remember just how much there is to do in "little old Galveston" that we sometimes take for granted. We wrapped up the day with dinner at The Spot. An island famous hambuger place with big ole buns and a toppings bar filled with everything you can imagine. We listened to the hum of motorcylces passing up and down Seawall Blvd as the sky turned pink from the beautiful Texas sunset.
Sunday we went to church and ran some errands. Sim and I finally bought a patio set so we can enjoy our huge deck. So once we got back Sim and Dad put it together and we spent the afternoon sipping tea and enjoying the sunshine under the umbrella on the table.
Monday after work we all headed up to Houston for the Astro's game at Minutemaid Park. The baseball stadium there is BEAUTIFUL. It has a retractable roof and it was actually closed while we were there. So I enjoyed my first airconditioned baseball game! The Astros lost to the Cubs but they played well and we can't wait to make it back there again for another game soon!
We were sad to see my parents leave but we enjoyed their visit SO much! Only a few more weeks till we're in Virginia for Tommy and Kim's wedding and we get to see Sim's parents and the rest of my family. Can't wait!
